The Fair is a Game Boy game born from a ludodivinatory exploration of the sounds, synchronicities and high strangeness of a real word place.

Discover the weird lore of the place by connecting to its hidden agencies through sonic mechanics, tracing the eerie resonances between the town’s hills, the power plant, and a lake long abandoned by the fish.

HOW TO PLAY:

The Fair is a game based on exploration of places and lore.

Press [A] button / Z key to interact.

Search for the details in the areas to progress through the game.

Once 'the Device' is found in the game, press [B] button / X key to generate sound events; if an answering sound is heard shortly after, it means that the surrounding area is not yet fully explored.  Some paths necessary for the progression might remain inaccessible without a thorough investigation of the environments.

At a specific moment in the game, you will be asked to play an external track as soundtrack.  You can find the track at this link:

really cool! love the art and the whole resonance mechanic is really interesting. I was missing something in the second area though and couldn't progress. I feel like maybe I missed an entire area because I looked around for a while back and forth.

Hey! Thank you so much for your kind words! We really appreciate! Where did you get stuck?

Your game got reviewed by the Arcane Cache, a very underground blog for very underground games!

Noisy, distorted tunes accompany you while you ravage through deserted industrial sites, Calligari-esque streets and paganic churches – a dense, interesting and unique experience.

Well done, congratulations! :)

Thank you so much for your fantastic review! It means a lot. It really resonates with what we wanted to express with the game and the whole project behind it.

:)

You are very welcome; glad you liked it.
Thanks in turn for making interesting games!
